A special emergency meeting of the 51情报站 Board of Visitors has been called by the Rector for the purpose of delegating authority to the Presidential Search Committee, discussing the proposed creation of a Governance Committee, and to receive a briefing from University leadership on the opening of campus. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020, at 1:00 PM. Pursuant to Executive Amendment 28 to HB29 (2020), the Board will meet by electronic communication means, without a quorum and without any Board members physically assembled at one location, to discuss or transact business statutorily required or necessary to continue operations of the Board and the discharge of its lawful purposes, duties and responsibilities.

Following a motion and vote of the Board of Visitors to convene in closed session, members of the Board and designated University officials will leave the open session and proceed into closed session. Following the closed session, the Board of Visitors will reconvene in open session to certify that only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements and which were identified in the motion authorizing the closed session were heard, discussed, or considered, and to take any action as necessary.

Members of the public may submit written comments related to the attached agenda to the Executive Secretary to the Board at dmeeks@odu.edu by 10:00 a.m. on August 14, 2020. Public comments should address only the items listed on the attached agenda and will be distributed to the Board prior to the meeting.
