The Batten College of Engineering and Technology wrapped up a successful Engineers Week (EWeek) on February 23. The week-long celebration, founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers, is dedicated to raising public awareness and appreciation about the engineering profession.

The College held several events over the week, including pop-up advising and a mini career fair featuring听听,听听and听. On Wednesday, students were treated to free lunch during the Student Appreciation Social.

Trina Marsh Dyal, director of the Science Directorate at NASA Langley Research Center, was the keynote speaker for EWeek. Dyal, who earned her bachelor's, master's and doctorate at 51情报站, talked about her journey to NASA and some of the many projects of the Science Directorate. She also encouraged students to be open to opportunities in forging their own path. "A lot of times it is about people who see things in you that you don't see in yourself," she said. "And you have to be brave enough to step through the door when they push you in directions you might not be ready to take."

The final event, the Engineers Gala, sponsored by the听听will be held on March 18.
