The Batten College of Engineering and Technology has been awarded Bronze-level status within the American Society for Engineering Education鈥檚 (ASEE)
The program recognizes engineering and engineering technology colleges that demonstrate significant and measurable progress in enhancing diversity, inclusion, and degree attainment outcomes within their programs.
To be eligible for consideration in the program, colleges must develop a diversity plan that defines diversity and inclusiveness, assesses needs, sets priorities and goals, mandates equity, implicit bias, and inclusion training, establishes accountability and utilizes surveys to evaluate effectiveness.
鈥淲e have worked hard to align with and build upon the Batten College鈥檚 Strategic Plan and 51情报站鈥檚 Monarch Plan for Inclusive Excellence,鈥 said Stacie Ringleb, associate dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access at the College. 鈥淲e are honored to be acknowledged by the ASEE for those efforts.鈥
During the three-year term, the Batten College will have permission to display a special badge on marketing materials and its website.
Awardees will be honored at the 2024 conference in Portland, Oregon, in June.
