Brian K. Holland '93 was appointed to the Board of Visitors July 1, 2022 by Governor Glenn Youngkin. He currently serves on the Executive Committee, Academic & Research Advancement, and University Advancement Committee.
Holland is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, LLC. He has grown the company from a small mortgage office of four employees in 1996 to a thriving, award-winning mortgage lender today with more than 800 employees, 138 branches across 17 states, and more than 180,000 homeowners served since the company was founded.
Holland received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the College of Business and Public Administration at 51情报站 in 1993. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation and previously served on the Advisory Board for the College of Business and Public Administration. In 2010, Holland served as a panelist for the Landmark Executive in Residence entrepreneurship panel discussion on campus. Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group secured naming rights for the Football Game Day Complex at S.B. Ballard Stadium in 2017. ABMG is also a Monarch partner of 51情报站 Sports Properties.
Prior to founding Atlantic Bay, Brian joined a mortgage company after graduating from 51情报站 and in just three months became the assistant branch manager. Three years later, he opened Atlantic Bay鈥檚 doors.鈥嬏齋ince then, Atlantic Bay has been named a 鈥淭op 100 Mortgage Company in America,鈥 鈥淏est Mortgage Company,鈥 and 鈥淢ost Enjoyable Place to Work,鈥 among others.
Atlantic Bay鈥檚 core values are听We Inspire Growth, We Genuinely Care,听and听We Have Fun.听Among Brian鈥檚 many accomplishments for Atlantic Bay clients, he also ensures these values are reflected and that the employees and the communities they serve feel the company鈥檚 positive impact. Brian created the employee wellness initiatives AB Fit and AB Life to help employees achieve work-life balance and remain physically and mentally healthy. He also successfully launched the AB Cares program, through which employees donate their time and resources to more than 250 causes important to them. Two special organizations to which Brian and Atlantic Bay devote resources are the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia Board and Roc Solid, a foundation that builds hope through building playsets and packing 鈥渞eady bags鈥 for families fighting pediatric cancer.
Brian met his wife in 1992, and they have three children. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys golfing and coaching his kids in baseball, soccer, basketball, and golf.
