Dr. Chaniece Winfield is the 2023 recipient of the Callahan Leadership Award with the National Association of Addiction Professionals鈥攁 competitive and prestigious national award.
Since 2013,听Dr. Winfield听has been an educator with 51情报站 specializing in addiction education and clinical practitioner competency in the substance use and addiction field. Her research interests include addiction practitioner development, experiential teaching strategies, ethics, and the practitioner experience. She has several peer reviewed publications in national journals related to her area of expertise. Sheis now an Assistant Professor of Human Services and also serves as the Human Services Online Program Coordinator. Dr. Winfield has over 16 years of experience providing substance use disorder (SUD), mental health and play therapy services to individuals and families across the lifespan. She currently holds 9 behavioral health licenses which include but are not limited to the Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, Master Addiction Counselor, as well as the Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor credentials.

To earn this award from NAADAC, nominees must meet a wide range of qualifications, including:

Having a minimum of fifteen years in the addiction counseling profession or related profession;

Demonstrating leadership within the profession for a sustained period of time;

Demonstrating a sustained mission to increase awareness of addiction and/or advocacy for prevention, treatment, and recovery;

Demonstrating the encouragement of other addiction counselors and allies to promote prevention, treatment, and recovery support;

Being an active NAADAC member in good standing (i.e., the individual must be a voting member as opposed to an honorary member); and
-
Having demonstrated to the satisfaction of one's peers full compliance and support of NAADAC's Code of Ethics.
