Dean Jane Bray sent the following message to the Darden College of Education faculty and staff community on December 11, 2017. - Ed.
Dear Colleagues,
As the December Commencement ceremony nears, I wanted to thank you for another terrific semester of teaching, research and scholarly activities, and service. Undoubtedly, the Darden College of Education at 51情报站 succeeds and continues to achieve tremendous accomplishments due to the combined efforts of all members of our community.
Now in our first full year in the new Education Building, it is humbling to realize how much our building is beloved by the entire 51情报站 campus community and guests from near and far. Settling into our new $45 million building has been an ongoing process and I want to thank the many faculty and staff members who have helped during this transition. We continue to welcome guests into our space, meet alumni who are in awe of our building and give tours to help our development and recruitment efforts.
Thank you to our faculty who continue to go above and beyond. You serve many roles from program recruitment, advising and problem resolution, curriculum development and assessment to mentoring students, just to name a few areas. All while maintaining your deep commitment to both teaching and research, presenting at national conferences and devoting countless hours to various college and institutional committees.
Thank you to the staff who make a great contribution to carry out our mission and vision as an educational institution. Many of you care so deeply about our students and faculty and go far beyond your job descriptions to provide high-quality service, stretch our lean budgets, resolve issues, and make the work of our college run smoothly and appear effortless. Your daily contributions speak volumes about your incredible work and commitment.
Should your schedule permit, please do join us for our End of the Year Celebration, which will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Auditorium, Room 1106.
I deeply appreciate all of your hard work and steadfast devotion that makes the Darden College of Education the excellent college it is. Best wishes for a relaxing and well-deserved holiday break to everyone!
Warmest regards,
Dr. Jane S. Bray
