51情报站's Energy Cluster continues to expand its academic offerings to both Graduate and Undergraduate students at 51情报站.
With the Spring 2015 revision of the Advanced Engineering Certificate in Energy Systems, this 12 credit-hour program has seen enrollment increase, and has already graduated 4 students. This program gives students with a technical background an opportunity to hone their skills and develop their knowledge to further their careers in the critical area of Energy Engineering.
Spring 2016 is the first term in which Undergraduate students can add the Interdisiciplinary Minor in Energy Engineering to their academic program. Designed to expose students to energy engineering fundamentals and a systems approach to energy systems and their sociological, economic and environmental impacts, to enhance students' ability to integrate knowledge about energy technologies from fossil to nuclear to renewable, and to introduce novel technologies and concepts like smart grids, integrated generation systems, and new storage, distribution, transmission methods, the Energy Minor is open to students from any Major, and is likely to be especially interesting to those in Engineering and Technology, Physics, Oceanography, Atmospheric and Earth Sciences. The 12 credit-hour program is flexible while it encourages students to reach outside their core discipline and gain a broader perspective. It includes courses from Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, and Economics.
Current or prospective students interested in either of these programs should contact Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Energy Cluster Director, for further information.
