The American Society of Safety Professionals, ASSP, host a Professional Development Conference, PDC, yearly. This conference provides resources for Safety Professionals and future Safety Professionals to develop their careers. They had presenters, vendors and a lot of networking. This year it was hosted in Myrtle Beach, SC September 13- 15. Jenna Horner and Emily Meserole are both 51情报站 Seniors and will be graduating this December. They are both Environmental Health majors with an Occupational Safety Minor. One of the key events of this conference is the Student Presentation Contest where the students created posters and a presentation about a safety topic of their choosing. Jenna chose the topic Situational Awareness in regards to the EMT profession and Emily chose Technology used in Fleet Vehicle Safety Programs. Jenna won 3rd place in the undergraduate category of the contest while Emily won 2nd place in the same category. Both students were provided lodging at the Kingston Resorts where the conference was held. The students were sponsored by ASSP Greater Tidewater Chapter to attend this conference.
