Mark your calendars as 51鱨վ Libraries recognize Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 16!
PhD candidates from 51鱨վ’s Department of Computer Science will share their academic work regarding the accessibility and usability of popular web archives taken from the experiences of those who are visually impaired. While web archives serve as digital repositories, they store ‘snapshots’ of web pages at different time intervals and enable users to access prior versions of web pages. Student presenters consider how these sites may become equally accessible to all users.

Please join us on May 16 for “Accessibility and Usability of Web Archives” in Perry Library, Rooms 1310-1311, or , from noon to 1:30pm for an impactful conversation and a catered lunch!

The Libraries welcome guest speakers Tim Hackman, dean of University Libraries, Courtney Gipson, director of 51鱨վ’s Office of Educational Accessibility, and the following presenters:
* Vikas Ashok, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science
* 51鱨վ Akshay Nayak, PhD student, Department of Computer Science
