The 51情报站 Libraries were well-represented this year at the Virginia Library Association Annual Conference. Lucinda Rush, Rachel Stott, Topher Lawton and Megan Smith presented One Minute Tips, Take Two: Student Perceptions of Videos Used to Teach Information Literacy Concepts. The presentation was based on a 2-year research project which has involved creating our One Minute Tips videos series, evaluating best practices, and most recently, gathering data regarding student perceptions of our videos. More information about the project is available on our Library Guide.
Ashley Brewer, Rachel Stott, and Lucinda Rush presented the poster Jargon-Free Librarianing: Speaking the Language of Our Patrons. We have been working to streamline communications with our students across all points of contact including through our information discovery layer, in library instruction, and in in-person interactions such as chat, one-on-one consutations, and on our Library Guides. The poster can be viewed here .
