Mark Your Calendars! Please join us on August 29 as 51情报站 Libraries host the dedication of Aquatic Archive, a mural aimed to address the past, present, and future of coastal life in and around Norfolk through arts-based research. The work provides a solution-focused approach that fosters collective responsibility for preservation and sustainable management of our precious waterways.

Over twelve months of research, design, and artistic creation, Dr. Natalia Pilato, from the 51情报站 Department of Art, completed the mural with the combined efforts of students enrolled in the Spring '24 studio course Art 495/595: Blue Connections: Murals and Mosaics, summer studio and research assistants, and community painting volunteers. Partnering with the Libraries, Aquatic Archive offers connectivity across campus and supports the Libraries' core purpose to inspire and empower Monarchs to learn, grow, and create.

Dedication Event:

  • Thursday, August 29
  • 5pm to 7pm
  • Perry Library, 1st Floor Learning Commons
  • Light Refreshments Served
