Military Nursing Students

The Ellmer School of Nursing welcomes military applicants interested in obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from 51情报站. Nationally accredited and state approved, the BSN program consists of 120 - 126 semester credits; 66 credits are in the nursing major and 54-60 credits in the liberal arts and sciences fulfill the university's general education program.

Please review the process specific to your branch of service.

Options

The STA-21 program is designed for currently active-duty enlisted sailors seeking selection for a military enlisting commissioning program to become commissioned officers. These sailors work with their STA-21 programs to complete their military packet. The Ellmer School of Nursing provides required degree plans for eligible BSN students.聽

For the STA-21 admissions process, please follow these steps:

STEP 1: Determine eligibility

Determine eligibility by reviewing the following requirements:

  1. A 3.5 minimum GPA from 7 prerequisite courses:

    • Written Comm. Skills (ENGL 110C) - 3 credits
    • Mathematical Skills (STAT 130M) - 3 credits
    • Developmental Psychology (PSYC 203S) - 3 credits
    • Introduction to Sociology (SOC201S) - 3 credits
    • CHEM105/106N or CHEM 121/122N - 4 credits
    • Microbiology (BIO 103) - 4 credits
    • Human Anatomy I (BIO 250) - 4 credits
  2. Score of 80 or higher on the HESI A2 ()

  3. Minimum of 30 credit hours completed.

STEP 2: Complete the Application

Once you meet the eligibility requirements, complete the Prelicensure Nursing Application.

STEP 3: Submit your application

Submit your application to 51情报站 Ellmer School of Nursing via the directions on Undergraduate Admission and allow a minimum of 3-4 weeks for the creation of your Conditional Letter of Acceptance and Degree Plan for your military packet.

STEP 4: Notify the Ellmer School of Nursing

If selected for the military program, notify the Ellmer School of Nursing contacts immediately for further instructions.

The Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program (MECP) allows enlisted sailors in the Navy an opportunity to earn an entry level degree in nursing and be appointed as an officer in the Navy in the Nursing Corp. To be considered for the program you must meet the minimum requirements and submit an application package to Naval Medical Education and Training Command (NMETC.). The Ellmer School of Nursing provides degree plans for eligible BSN students.

To apply to our program and request a conditional letter of acceptance and BSN degree plan for your packet, AECP, STA-21 and MECP applications should follow the steps below.

STEP 1:聽Determine Eligibility

Determine eligibility by reviewing the following requirements:

  1. A 3.5 minimum GPA from 7 prerequisite courses:

The Nurse Candidate Program (NCP) is a financial assistance program for students enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing program. Upon completion of degree requirements, the student must accept a commission as a Nurse Corps (NC) officer. Prospective Students work with the Navy Nurse Corps recruiter, LTJG Sutarto Seong. Navy applicants work with the medical program recruiter to determine eligibility for the program. 51情报站 Ellmer School of Nursing provides degree plans for selected students.
