51情报站's cybersecurity program has always been student-centric. The School of Cybersecurity supports various K-12 student activities, ranging from summer camps and competitions to campus tours and site visits. Please contact cyber@odu.edu to schedule an individual or group visit. During the visit, you will have opportunity to speak with faculty members, meet current students, take tours of cybersecurity lab facilities, and learn more about cybersecurity!
Summer Camps
Cyber Defense Camps and Outreach Program
51情报站 is pleased to announce that the School of Cybersecurity will conduct two GenCyber Student/Teacher Combination Camps this summer for middle and high school students entering grades 7th - 12th (JROTC students especially encouraged) and high school teachers and JROTC instructors. Student campers will learn cybersecurity, develop the interest in cybersecurity and acquire cybersecurity knowledge and hands-on skills. Teacher participants will have professional development in cybersecurity, including pre- and post-camp training and one-week camp professional learning. All participants will receive free lab kits.
When: Two sessions
- July 10-14, 2023
- July 17-21, 2023
Learn: Work with cyber reconnaissance, web exploits, network analysis, ethical hacking, cryptography, reverse engineering through hands-on opportunities!
Practice: Participate in offensive and defensive activities, defense gaming, and Capture the Flag events!
Enrichment: Fun and engaging pre- and post-camp outreach activities
Cost: FREE; Teachers will receive summer stipends!
Old Dominion GenCyber Student Ambassador Program
The Old Dominion GenCyber Student Ambassador Program will kick off the new season of events soon! The Old Dominion GenCyber Student Ambassador Program is a team of student leaders dedicated to introduce GenCyber program to high school in Hampton Roads and support the GenCyber community. The prior and prospective GenCyber campers are welcome to apply online.
