Aeve
Hello, my name is Aeve, and I am going into my fourth year here at 51情报站. I came to 51情报站 intending to be a philosophy major, but what I did not know yet was how much of an impact philosophy, the professors, and other students would have on me. It wasn't until I took a few classes and went to some Philosophy Club meetings that I realized just how much fun the whole experience can be. I am currently the Philosophy Club President, so if you are interested in anything from the department to the club to philosophy in general I would love to chat! I am applying to graduate programs in philosophy this Fall, and am planning on using my degrees to teach philosophy at the university level.

Hi! My name is Kyah Ferguson, and I am a Philosophy and Polisci double major as a junior here at 51情报站. I am a part of the Philosophy Club and the Pre-Law Association, both led by great executive board members. I have chosen to become a Philosophy and Religious studies ambassador because I strongly feel that studying philosophy is not advertised in the best way. I think it has a very confusing and dense feel, but when you break it down from all of the jargon, it truly is so much fun to apply to life and even other majors. It helps train your brain to think critically about things you overlook daily, like life and reality!

Hello! I'm a philosophy major with a concentration in religious studies.聽 I have always been interested in philosophy, specifically regarding things like existence, meaning, and purpose.聽 I chose to pursue this degree because I wanted to have a better understanding of how different philosophies and religions have impacted and shaped our daily lives - be it politically, socially, environmentally, or morally.聽 For me, the program has been incredibly rewarding.聽 I have learned and grown so much from the interactions I have had with both students and staff, not just within the classes, but also through random conversations and Philosophy Club.聽 The program teaches learning skills such as critical thinking and reason, which are not only applicable within the world of philosophy, but in almost every other aspect in one's life, so whichever direction you take, philosophy will help!

Hi! I'm a double major in Philosophy and Psychology and an international student from Norway here on a student visa. I first came into 51情报站 planning on just studying Psychology, that was until I took my first Philosophy course and immediately fell in love with the field. Everything I've learned and all the faculty and students in the Philosophy department have helped me grow so much as a person. The skills and insights I have developed through studying and practicing philosophy have greatly improved my abilities in not only my work in psychology, research, and the sciences, but in my life in general, and will continue to be incredibly beneficial for my social, academic, and professional life.
