On February 13, 2024, the Southeastern Virginia Environmental Education (SEVEE) consortium, led by Dr. Venicia Ferrell and Alexis Tharpe of The Center for Educational Partnerships (TCEP), welcomed Dr. Anna Davis from the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) at the newly established Ryan Resilience Lab in Norfolk, VA. This collaboration between TCEP, SERC, and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) Oyster Team aims to foster environmental consciousness among teachers and students and provide science-based insights to address environmental challenges.
51情报站's Center for Educational Partnerships (TCEP) received the Virginia Mathematics and Science Coalition (VMSC) Programs that Work award for the program Southeastern Virginia Environmental Education (SEVEE) Consortium. The award recognizes exemplary mathematics, science, and integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs for which there is evidence of a positive impact on student or teacher learning. This is the fourth time TCEP has won this distinguished state award.
YCSD Environmental and Maritime Science Career Pathways Program: This Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) funded project focuses on increasing awareness and exploration of careers within Environmental or Maritime Science pathways for military-connected elementary and middle school students and increasing college, career, and civic readiness for military-connected high school students in the York County School Division (YCSD).
Essex County Public Schools has received a $117,910 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET).

Melani Loney, the Program Manager for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematical Education Initiatives at 51情报站's Center for Educational Partnerships (TCEP) was appointed the Education Section Secretary of the Virginia Academy of Science (VAS).
VAS is the fifth largest state, region, or city academy of science in the U.S.; it was founded in 1923 to promote the civic, academic, agricultural, industrial, and commercial welfare of the people of Virginia. Their members are active in STEM research and education and promote the advancement of science in the Commonwealth of Virginia by providing support for research projects and a platform for dissemination of research results.
