51Ç鱨վ utilizes a virtual permit system andÌýLicense Plate RecognitionÌýto enforce permit usage. Your license plate is your permit!
To set up your virtual permit:
- Log on to theÌýÌýto purchase a permit.
- Add your vehicle(s) to your account.
- Link those vehicle license plates to your permit (this is a separate step).
You are allowed to register up to three (3) vehicles per permit. Those vehicles cannot use the permit at the same time.

Payroll Deduction
Full-time University Faculty and Staff and hourly employees who are on the 51Ç鱨վ regular payroll may elect to purchase their permits through payroll deduction.
Payroll deduction forms must be submitted by the deadline, which will be sent out each year in a Faculty/Staff Email, and in the University Announcements. Once these forms are submitted, annual renewal for payroll deduction can be conductedÌý.
Payroll deduction is NOT available to Adjunct Faculty, ROTC, Third Party employees, undergraduate student employees, and Research Foundation employees. Payment Plans for Adjunct Faculty, Third Party Employees may be available-- contact us for details.

New Employee?
Welcome to 51Ç鱨վ! As a new employee of the university, you have access to a complimentary New Employee 30-Day parking permit and the ability to enroll in payroll deduction. This permit is available online using the 51Ç鱨վ Parking Portal and is only available during your first 30 days of employment with the university.
To access the new-employee 30-Day permit, please complete the Transportation and Parking Services Vehicle Registration Form during the onboarding process. Once your employee record has been updated, you will receive an email notifying stating that you can log in to the 51Ç鱨վ Parking Portal using the "51Ç鱨վ Midas ID Login" and obtain your temporary permit. You will receive an emailed receipt once you have successfully obtained your permit. Once your new employee 30-Day permit is expired you are expected to purchase an employee permit.
Permits can be purchased online using the 51Ç鱨վ Parking Portal or in the Transportation and Parking Services Office. Employees have the option to enroll in payroll deduction. If you wish to take advantage of this option, please emailÌýparking@odu.eduÌýto establish your deductions.
Faculty and Staff parking permits are valid in all parking lots and garages on campus, except hourly only and reserved parking spaces. Parking in an ADA space requires a valid DMV issued placard or plates and an 51Ç鱨վ parking permit or hourly payment. Leaving the University?
When leaving the university Faculty/Staff permits are eligible for a pro-rated refund. The refund amount is calculated based on when the permit is deactivated and is only available to permits paid in full. Deactivation will occur only when Transportation and Parking Services is notified via an email toÌýparking@odu.eduÌýof the request.
For permits purchased through payroll deduction, please emailÌýparking@odu.eduÌýto request cancellation of your deductions. This will occur at the first available payroll processing date after Transportation and Parking Services is notified or upon receiving a notice of separation from the Human Resources Department.
Please note that any unpaid citations or fines will be deducted from the refund amount or final paycheck.

New Adjunct Faculty have access to a New Employee 30-Day permit found on the 51Ç鱨վ Parking Portal. When the New Employee 30-Day permit expires Adjunct Faculty have access to purchase a semester or annual Adjunct Faculty permits, prices are listed above under 'Permit Prices.'
Faculty/Staff may buy their annual permit starting in September through the or in the Transportation and Parking Services office located in the 43rd & Elkhorn Garage.
Whenever a dual status exists, for example a full-time employee who also teaches as an adjunct faculty member, the higher parking permit rate prevails.
If you plan to come to campus with a different vehicle than those on your parking permit, please go immediately to the and add the new vehicle to your account AND link the license plate to your permit. If the vehicle is a rental, be sure to remove it from your account after you return it.
Sold or Traded Vehicles
If a vehicle is sold or traded, it must be reported to TPS immediately, as any fines accrued by that vehicle will be the responsibility of the owner/permit holder.
